Burlap

The burlap with plaster is used as a modeling technique or structural reinforcement in artistic works, creation of molds and counter molds scenographic or light construction. It consists of impregnating burlap cloth (a jute fiber or similar) with Exaduro plaster or Arquero, to create a rigid surface once dry.

Basic method of use:

Cut the burlap to the desired size.

Mix the plaster with water to a creamy consistency.

Immerse the burlap in the mixture until it is completely soaked.

Place on the base structure or mold and shape it.

Let it dry until it hardens completely.

This technique combines the flexibility and resistance of the fabric with the solidity and rigidity of the plaster, resulting in a versatile and economical solution for multiple applications.
