ULTRAGLOW Verde is a photoluminescent powder filler that you can incorporate directly into resin or foam castings to obtain pieces that glow in the dark with far greater intensity and duration than conventional phosphorescent fillers. Compatible with epoxy, polyurethane, polyester and acrylic resins, it is the go-to option when you need real, long-lasting luminescence in your projects.

What it's used for
ULTRAGLOW Verde is used in any project where you need the finished piece to emit its own light in the dark after being exposed to a light source. The applications are very wide-ranging:
- Cosplay accessories and props with night-glow effect
- Jewellery and fashion jewellery with integrated luminescence
- Halloween and horror decorations and themed environments
- Hobby and miniature collecting projects
- Aquarium decoration and submersible resin elements
- Industrial and road signage in resin parts
- Special effects in scale models, dioramas and scenography
- Decorative castings, resin jewellery and encapsulations
How to use it
- Prepare your usual resin following the manufacturer's instructions (component mixing, ratios, etc.).
- Add ULTRAGLOW Verde to the already-prepared resin mix. As a starting point, incorporate between 10% and 30% by weight relative to the total resin; adjust according to the desired level of luminescence.
- Stir thoroughly until the powder is perfectly dispersed throughout the mix, with no lumps or uncovered areas.
- Pour the mix into the mould or work surface as normal.
- Allow to cure according to the times indicated for your base resin.
- Once the piece has cured, expose it to natural or artificial light for a few minutes to charge it, and check the glow effect in the dark.
Usage tips
Use the gel coat method to optimise cost
ULTRAGLOW is not a cheap filler, and most of the visual effect is concentrated on the visible face of the piece. The workshop trick is simple: brush a first coat of resin heavily loaded with ULTRAGLOW directly onto the mould, let it gel, and then fill the rest of the volume with unfilled resin. You get the same luminous effect on the visible face with far lower filler consumption. For the top coat or surface layer you can use a crystal-clear epoxy such as Epofer EX201+E202 Top Coat Epoxi, which protects the piece and enhances the clarity of the glow.
Light exposure for efficient charging
The intensity and duration of the glow depend directly on the time and intensity of light exposure before taking the piece into the dark. UV light and direct sunlight are the most effective sources for charging the material. The longer you expose the piece, the longer and brighter the emission will be. Under normal indoor lighting conditions, 5–10 minutes are sufficient to obtain a visible glow lasting several hours.
Mix homogeneity and sedimentation
Being a dense powder, ULTRAGLOW tends to settle if the base resin has very low viscosity. To prevent particles from sinking to the bottom before the resin cures, you can work with a slightly more viscous resin, add a thixotropic agent such as Gel de Sílice AT2, or pour in successive layers and stir periodically during the first few minutes of curing. You can also combine ULTRAGLOW Verde with the ULTRAGLOW Azul variant to experiment with custom emission tones.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use this type of filler with any resin?
ULTRAGLOW Verde is compatible with most resins commonly used in the workshop: epoxy, polyurethane (both rigid resin and foam), polyester and acrylics. You just need to make sure the base resin is translucent or transparent if you want to make the most of the luminous effect; in opaque resins the glow is greatly diminished.
How much filler should I add to the resin?
As a general guide, between 10% and 30% by weight relative to the total mixed resin is recommended. The higher the proportion of ULTRAGLOW Verde, the greater the intensity and duration of the glow, although the transparency of the piece is reduced. You can adjust the amount according to the result you are looking for and run small-scale tests before making the final casting.
Is the glow permanent or does it wear out over time?
The photoluminescent effect of ULTRAGLOW Verde does not wear out: the filler absorbs light and emits it in the dark repeatedly and indefinitely. It is not a chemical process that gets consumed, but a physical property of the material. The piece will continue to glow in the dark after each light exposure cycle throughout its entire service life.
How long does the piece glow in the dark after being charged?
It depends on the time and type of prior light exposure, as well as the proportion of filler used. Under optimal conditions (exposure to sunlight or UV light for several minutes), pieces made with ULTRAGLOW Verde can emit visible light for several hours, with an emission duration up to 10 times longer than that of conventional photoluminescent fillers.
Can it be mixed with colour pigments to change the tone?
Yes, but with caution: opaque or highly saturated pigments can partially block the luminous emission. If you want to colour the piece while maintaining the effect, use translucent pigments at low concentrations. The most common approach is to work with unpigmented resin to maximise the glow, or apply colour in separate layers.
Is it suitable for use in contact with water or in aquariums?
Once the resin has cured, the filler is encapsulated within the polymer matrix and the piece is suitable for aquarium decoration, provided the base resin used is appropriate for that purpose (not all resins are suitable for permanent water contact). The powder itself, uncured, must not be added directly to water.
Can I add more or less filler depending on the project?
Yes. The proportion of ULTRAGLOW Verde in the mix is fully adjustable to suit the project's requirements. Less filler produces a more subtle glow and a more transparent piece; more filler intensifies the luminescence but may reduce transparency and increase the viscosity of the mix. Running prior tests is recommended to find the optimal balance.
What is the difference between the green and blue versions?
The only difference is the colour of the light emitted in the dark: ULTRAGLOW Verde emits in green tones, while ULTRAGLOW Azul emits in blue tones. The intensity, duration and resin compatibility properties are equivalent in both versions. You can combine them to create custom colour effects.
