ULTRAGLOW Blue is a high-intensity photoluminescent powder filler designed to be incorporated into resin castings, providing a long-lasting, high-power blue glow in the dark. Compatible with epoxy, polyurethane (liquid and foam), polyester and acrylic resins, its luminous performance surpasses other fillers on the market by up to 10 times, making it the go-to option for projects where luminescence is the main element.

What it is used for

ULTRAGLOW Blue allows you to create pieces that glow in the dark with great intensity and duration. It is used by mixing it directly into the resin before pouring, both in decorative and functional applications.

  • Cosplay pieces with nocturnal luminous effect
  • Jewellery and costume jewellery with transparent epoxy resin castings
  • Decoration and theming of spaces (Halloween, themed environments)
  • Decorative elements for aquariums and terrariums
  • Hobby and craft projects with resin
  • Industrial and road emergency signage
  • Inlays and luminous details in countertops and composite pieces
  • Art and sculpture with special light effects

How to use it

  1. Prepare the mould or surface where you are going to pour the resin. If you are using a silicone mould, make sure it is clean and dry.
  2. Mix the resin according to the manufacturer's instructions (component A and B in the correct ratio).
  3. Add the ULTRAGLOW Blue filler to the already prepared resin mixture. Start with an approximate ratio of 10-20% by weight relative to the resin and adjust according to the desired effect. You can add more or less filler depending on the needs of your project.
  4. Mix thoroughly until the powder is evenly integrated, avoiding lumps or areas without filler.
  5. Pour into the mould or apply with a brush if you are using the gel coat technique.
  6. Allow to cure according to the cure times of the resin used.
  7. Once cured, expose the piece to a light source (sunlight or artificial light) to charge it and check the effect in the dark.

Usage tips

Gel coat technique for better performance and savings

Since ULTRAGLOW is a high-value product, the most efficient way to use it is to first apply a brush coat with a high concentration of filler directly onto the mould (gel coat technique), and then pour the rest of the resin without filler. This way, the visible face of the piece glows with maximum intensity and you use much less powder per casting.

Which resins work best

For maximum light transmission, use transparent epoxy resins such as Epofer EX201+E202. The more transparent the resin matrix, the greater the visible glow effect. With coloured or opaque resins, the effect is noticeably reduced. Avoid adding opaque pigments if you want to make the most of the luminescence.

Light charging and storage

For maximum glow, expose the cured piece to intense light for several minutes before turning it off. Sunlight or a UV LED lamp are the most effective. Store any leftover powder in an airtight container, away from moisture, to preserve its properties without degradation.

Frequently asked questions

Can I add more or less filler depending on the result I want?

Yes. The proportion of filler in the resin is adjustable according to the desired effect. With ULTRAGLOW Blue you can start at 10% by weight relative to the resin and increase up to 20-30% for greater intensity. The more filler, the more glow, although it also increases the opacity of the piece and the cost. Experiment with small tests before the final casting.

What type of resin is this photoluminescent filler compatible with?

ULTRAGLOW Blue is compatible with epoxy, polyurethane (both liquid resin and foams), polyester and acrylic resins. For the best visual effect, it is recommended to use it with transparent epoxy resins such as Epofer EX201+E202, as the transparency of the matrix maximises the luminescence.

How long does the piece glow after being charged with light?

ULTRAGLOW is formulated to offer superior luminous performance, glowing up to 10 times more than other photoluminescent fillers on the market. The duration of the glow depends on the intensity and time of prior light exposure, as well as the concentration of filler in the piece. With a full charge under intense light, pieces maintain visible luminescence for several hours.

What is the difference between the blue and green variants?

The difference is the emission colour in the dark. ULTRAGLOW Verde emits a green tone, while ULTRAGLOW Blue emits a blue tone. Both have the same luminous performance and the same compatibility with resins. The choice depends on the aesthetic effect you are looking for in your project.

Can this filler be used for safety signage?

Yes. Thanks to its high luminous durability, ULTRAGLOW Blue can be used in industrial and road signage as a photoluminescent complement in resin pieces. For regulated safety applications, consult the specific requirements of the applicable regulations in your sector.

Does the filler affect the curing of the resin?

In general it does not interfere with the curing process of compatible resins. However, at very high concentrations it may slightly increase the viscosity of the mixture. Make sure to mix thoroughly before pouring and follow the working times indicated by the manufacturer of the resin you use.

Can I mix ULTRAGLOW Blue with colour pigments?

You can combine it with translucent pigments, but bear in mind that opaque pigments reduce or cancel out the luminous effect by blocking the light emission. To preserve the glow, use only translucent or fluorescent pigments and in small quantities.

How should I store the leftover powder?

Store ULTRAGLOW Blue in its original container, tightly closed, in a dry place away from moisture. Moisture absorption can degrade the properties of the powder over time. Avoid prolonged exposure to light before using it in your project.
