Silastic 3483 Base + Catalyst

Silastic 3483 silicone is characterized by its high resistance to the resins of casting, both Polyurethane and Polyester and Epoxy.

Its excellent properties and its high chemical and mechanical resistance allow us to obtain a greater number of parts per mold.

Among its main characteristics are its demolding capacity, its excellent fluidity and its high elasticity, for easy removal of complex reproductions.

It is also very versatile since with the same product, we have three different catalyzing systems;

• Curing Agent S83 -Standard - Working Time 90 min - Curing Time 24h.
• Curing Agent 81F -Fast- Working Time 45 min - Curing Time 8h.
• Curing Agent 81VF -Very Fast - Working Time 10 min - Curing Time 2 hours.

Remember that when ordering you can choose the catalyst that best suits your needs. However, if the work does not require a high speed and especially if it is your first molds, we recommend the Curing Agent 81 because it has a longer working time, the air also has more time to escape and bubbles are avoided.

Silastic 3483 can be made thixotropic (non-flowable) by adding THIXO ADDITIVE, for the reproduction of vertical surfaces with a brush. With this method it is possible to save material since it allows us to obtain the mold directly. We recommend a wall thickness of 1 cm. of Silastic 3483 and a counter mold of plaster, fiberglass/polyester or our special putty for counter molds AXSON SC-258.
