What it is used for

The Mini Adjusters 2 palette is designed to adjust and correct skin tones on prosthetics and complex makeups. Its deep colors allow you to create shadows, glazes, contrasts and effects of illness, death or fantastical tones on any compatible surface. It is especially useful on film sets, theatre, character makeup and special effects makeup education.

How to use it

1. Prepare the surface: make sure skin, silicone or latex is clean, dry and free of grease or residue from other products.
2. Activate the color: dampen a brush or sponge with Skin Illustrator Activator, Slow Activator or 99% isopropyl alcohol (IPA). Never use 70° alcohol, MEK, acetone or water, as they will damage the formula.
3. Pick up the color: slide the dampened brush over the color pan to load the required amount.
4. Apply in thin layers: work in successive layers, allowing each one to dry before applying the next. This ensures greater tone control and durability.
5. Mix and adjust: combine colors directly on the palette or on the surface to achieve custom shades. The palette colors are especially effective as correctors and tone modifiers over already applied bases.
6. Set the result: once satisfied with the finish, allow to dry completely. On skin, you can set with a compatible setting spray if the situation requires it.
7. Remove the makeup: use Telesis Super Solv for clean removal without irritating the treated surface.

Usage tips

Activators: choose wisely based on working time

The standard activator dries faster, which is ideal for precise and layered work. The Slow Activator provides more working time, perfect for broad blending and airbrush work. If you use IPA 99% directly, bear in mind that drying is very fast and you will need to work quickly. Never substitute with low-grade alcohol or aggressive solvents: they alter the binder and color adhesion.

Working on silicone and latex

On silicone or latex prosthetics, it is recommended to apply very thin layers and allow them to dry well between coats to ensure adhesion. The dark, deep colors of Mini Adjusters 2 are especially useful for creating shadows in cavities, transition areas and prosthetic edges, where an excess of product could build up and reveal the edge. Work with fine-tipped brushes for detail and sponges for backgrounds.

Palette storage and maintenance

Store the palette closed and away from direct heat and sunlight. If the colors dry out over time, they can be reactivated with a small amount of IPA 99%: this is a characteristic of alcohol inks, not a defect. Avoid contaminating the pans with other products; always use clean brushes to pick up color.
