What it is used for
The Tear Stick is a professional tool for any situation where you need to induce real tears quickly, in a controlled and repeatable way. The vapours released by the heat of the skin rise towards the eyes and stimulate tearing naturally, with no visual tricks or post-production required.

How to use it
- Make sure the skin under the eyes is clean and dry, free from heavy creams or very greasy foundations that could act as a barrier.
- Twist the case mechanism to expose the wax bar, just like a regular lipstick.
- Apply the product directly to the skin, approximately 15 mm below the lower eyelid edge, following the curve of the eye socket.
- Do not apply inside the eye or on the upper eyelid.
- The natural heat of the skin releases the menthol and camphor vapours, which rise towards the eye and induce tearing within seconds.
- If you need more intensity, apply a second pass or move the product slightly closer to the lower eyelid edge, without contact with the mucous membrane.
- To stop the effect, remove the excess product with a soft tissue or cold water.
Usage warnings: Keep out of reach of children (P102). Do not apply directly inside the eye or on mucous membranes. If eye irritation persists, consult a doctor (P337+P313). In case of accidental eye contact, rinse thoroughly with water. Avoid use in people with hypersensitivity to menthol or camphor.
Usage tips
Adjust dosage according to camera distance
For wide or medium shots, a single generous pass is usually sufficient. For close-ups where the camera is very near the actor, apply with greater precision and avoid excess: the effect can be more intense than expected and difficult to control during the take. Practise before the shoot to learn each performer's individual response.
Combine with other effects for greater realism
The tears induced by the Tear Stick are completely natural, but if you want to amplify the visual effect or maintain it between takes, you can complement it with Tear Blower - Lágrimas Artificiales, which allows drops to be applied at specific points without needing to stimulate tearing again. Cleaning and storage
After each use, clean the tip of the bar with a paper tissue to prevent the build-up of dead skin cells or makeup residue. Store the case closed, in a cool place away from direct heat sources, as high temperatures can soften the wax and alter its consistency.

If the makeup is light, the effect usually works just as well. Always do a test during production before the final shoot.

Is it suitable for actors with sensitive eyes or who wear contact lenses?
For people with particularly sensitive eyes or who wear contact lenses, extra caution is recommended and a prior patch test should be done. Contact lenses can retain menthol vapours with greater intensity, which could be more uncomfortable than desired. In these cases, start with a very light application and assess the response before increasing the dose.
Does it stain the skin or makeup?
