What it's used for

Telesis 8 Bolígrafo Aplicador is designed to bond silicone or latex prosthetic pieces directly onto skin with maximum safety and control. The roll-on format makes it especially practical on set, during character makeup sessions and at events where time and cleanliness are critical factors.

  • Bonding silicone prosthetics for special effects and theatrical or film character makeup
  • Adhering latex pieces in FX and fantasy makeup
  • Gluing fine prosthetic edges without the adhesive showing
  • Quick touch-ups on set during long shoots
  • Applications in hard-to-reach areas thanks to the roll-on precision head
  • Use on sensitive skin where a medical-grade product is required

How to use it

  1. Prepare the skin: clean the area with Telesis Super Solv Plus to remove oils, creams and any residue from previous products. Dry completely before continuing.
  2. Apply the adhesive: roll a thin, even layer over the skin and/or over the inner edge of the prosthetic, depending on your preferred technique.
  3. Allow to flash off: wait a few seconds until the adhesive reaches the tacky phase — sticky to the touch but with no wet or shiny appearance.
  4. Position the prosthetic: place the piece from the centre outward to the edges, pressing gently but firmly to ensure full contact.
  5. Seal the edges: if needed, go over the outer edges with a minimal amount of adhesive and smooth with a tool or your fingertip for an invisible blend.
  6. Remove safely: use Telesis Silicone Remover to lift the prosthetic without pulling or damaging the skin. Never remove dry.

Tips and advice

Adjust viscosity if needed

In cold environments, or if the formula feels too thick for the type of prosthetic you are working with, you can slightly thin the adhesive with Telesis 8 Thinner. Add a very small amount, mix thoroughly before applying, and avoid over-thinning — you will lose bond strength.

Heat and perspiration

In conditions of extreme heat or when the actor sweats heavily, bond duration can be affected. Prepare the skin thoroughly by removing any greasy residue with Telesis Super Solv before application. On long outdoor shoots, plan for touch-ups and always keep the pen on hand for quick repairs.

Pen storage

After each use, clean the roll-on head with a cloth dampened with a suitable solvent and close the cap firmly. Store the pen upright and away from heat sources. Avoid letting the head come into contact with contaminated surfaces to preserve the adhesive's purity and the product's shelf life.

Frequently asked questions

Is this adhesive safe to use directly on skin?

Yes. Telesis 8 is a medical-grade adhesive formulated specifically for prosthetic use on skin. However, on very sensitive skin or skin with dermatological conditions, a patch test on a small area is recommended before full application.

How long does the bond hold without touch-ups?

It depends on working conditions, the application area and prior skin preparation. With properly cleaned and dried skin, Telesis 8 provides strong adhesion throughout a standard shooting day. In conditions of heat, humidity or heavy perspiration, a mid-session touch-up may be necessary.

Can it be used with any type of silicone prosthetic?

Telesis 8 is compatible with prosthetics made from encapsulated platinum silicone and with latex pieces. For non-encapsulated silicone prosthetics, check the adhesive compatibility of the substrate before using it in production, as some soft silicones may have lower surface adhesion.

What is the difference between the pen and the standard format?

The adhesive content is the same: Telesis 8 Adhesivo de Silicona in its standard formula. The difference lies in the applicator: the roll-on pen allows a more controlled, clean and fast application, ideal for small areas or fine edges where a brush may be less precise or leave excess product.

How do you remove this adhesive correctly?

Correct removal requires a specific solvent. Apply Telesis Silicone Remover along the edges of the prosthetic with a cotton swab or fine brush, wait a few seconds for it to penetrate, then gently lift the piece without pulling. Never remove the prosthetic dry — you risk damaging the skin or the piece itself.

Can I thin the adhesive to make it flow better?

Yes, you can use Telesis 8 Thinner to reduce viscosity. Add only a small amount and mix well before applying. Excessive thinning will reduce bond strength.

Can it be used in areas with body or facial hair?

As a general rule, it is not recommended. The adhesive bonds strongly and removing it from hairy areas can be painful and may even cause hair loss. If application in such an area is unavoidable, use the minimum amount and apply the appropriate solvent to loosen it before removal.

What other prosthetic adhesives are available for FX makeup?

Feroca distributes several options depending on the prosthetic type and production requirements. PROTAC is an acrylic adhesive for FX makeup that can be a complementary alternative depending on the substrate and shooting conditions.
