What it is used for

Telesis Super Solv Plus is formulated for professional character makeup and special effects work where the skin of the actor or performer requires additional protection. It is particularly useful on long shoots and productions where the skin is subjected to repeated applications and removals of adhesives and makeup.

  • Removal of prosthetic adhesive residues from silicone and foam latex prosthetics
  • Removal of Skin Illustrator and alcohol-activated makeups
  • Cleaning edges and perimeters of prosthetics without damaging adjacent skin
  • Use on sensitive, reactive or irritation-prone skin
  • Skin conditioning during the makeup removal process
  • Cleaning tools and surfaces with adhesive residue

How to use it

  1. Apply a generous amount of Super Solv Plus with a cotton pad, sponge or swab to the edge of the prosthetic or area with adhesive.
  2. Allow the product to penetrate for a few seconds so the solvent can soften the adhesive.
  3. Gently lift the edge of the prosthetic or apply the solvent underneath it, working along the perimeter.
  4. Remove the prosthetic slowly, without pulling. If it resists, apply more product and wait.
  5. Once the prosthetic has been removed, clean any remaining adhesive residue from the skin with another cotton pad soaked in Super Solv Plus.
  6. Finish with water and mild soap, or use Fleet Street Plasma Soap for a thorough cleanse.
  7. The skin is left conditioned thanks to the vitamins and silicones in the formula, with no need to apply additional moisturiser unless advised by a professional.

Tips for use

Temperature and contact time

The product works best at room temperature. In cold environments the adhesive may be stiffer; in this case apply Super Solv Plus more generously and wait 15 to 30 seconds before attempting to lift the prosthetic. Do not rush the process by pulling on the prosthetic, as this may damage the skin or the piece.

Preserving the prosthetic

After removing the prosthetic, clean it too with Super Solv Plus to eliminate adhesive residue from the back. Use a swab or soft brush to avoid damaging fine silicone edges. A well-cleaned prosthetic after each use will last many more application cycles. If you use Telesis 8 in a pen applicator, the solvent is also effective for cleaning the applicator tip.

Alternatives depending on makeup or adhesive type

For cured silicone residues or silicone adhesives, also consider Telesis Silicone Remover or Telesis Silicone Make-Up Remover, specifically formulated for silicone residues. For greasy or water-based makeups, Isopropyl Myristate is a gentle and effective alternative.

Frequently asked questions

Can this makeup remover be used on very sensitive skin or skin with dermatitis?

Telesis Super Solv Plus is specifically formulated for sensitive skin, incorporating vitamins D and E and conditioning silicones. However, in cases of active dermatitis, wounds or severely compromised skin, it is advisable to consult a dermatologist before use and always carry out a patch test on a small area at least 24 hours in advance.

Does this solvent damage silicone prosthetics?

No. Super Solv Plus is designed to work on skin and prosthetics without degrading the silicone material. It is safe for encapsulated silicone prosthetics, foam latex and common special effects materials. Avoid prolonged contact with very delicate unsealed paints or pigments.

What is the difference between this product and a conventional solvent?

Conventional solvents remove adhesive but can dry out and irritate the skin. Telesis Super Solv Plus combines the same dissolving power with moisturising and conditioning agents (vitamins D and E, silicones), leaving the skin in better condition after makeup removal. This is particularly relevant on long productions with multiple makeup days.

Does it work for removing any type of prosthetic adhesive?

It is effective with most professional adhesives used in special effects, including solvent-based adhesives of the Telesis type. For cured silicone adhesives or very stubborn silicone residues, Telesis Silicone Remover may be a more targeted option.

Can it be used near the eyes or mucous membranes?

Direct contact with eyes and mucous membranes must be avoided. When working near the eye area, use a minimal amount of product with a fine-tip swab and with extreme care. In case of accidental eye contact, rinse thoroughly with water and consult a doctor if irritation persists.

How frequently can it be used without damaging the skin?

The formula is designed for daily use on intensive productions thanks to its conditioning agents. Even so, on very reactive skin it is advisable to apply a light moisturiser at the end of the day and give the skin a rest whenever possible.

Does it also work for cleaning makeup brushes and tools?

Yes. You can use Super Solv Plus to clean brushes and tools with adhesive residue. For a deeper clean of workshop tools and surfaces with silicone residues, see Telesis Silicone Remover.

How much product is needed per makeup session?

It depends on the number of pieces and the amount of adhesive used. In an average makeup session with one or two prosthetics, consumption per session is typically 5 to 15 ml. The 236 ml container provides more than enough for several weeks of production work.
