What it's used for
Sigma Bond Rollon is designed to bond lace prosthetics, hairpieces and hair additions directly onto skin. It works in any situation, but particularly stands out where fast, independent and safe application is needed.
- Securing wigs and lace hair systems (lace front, full lace)
- Self-application of hairpieces in theatre, television and film
- Attaching sideburns, temples and hair pieces onto skin
- Entry-level special effects FX makeup
- Quick applications in backstage, shoots or live performances
- Domestic or semi-professional use without third-party assistance
How to use it
- Clean and dry the area of skin where you will apply the adhesive. Remove any traces of grease, cream or previous makeup.
- Shake the roll-on container gently before use.
- Apply a thin, even coat of Sigma Bond Rollon onto the skin, following the placement line of the lace or hairpiece.
- Wait a few seconds until the adhesive becomes slightly tacky (sticky to the touch but not wet).
- Carefully place the hairpiece or lace onto the treated area and press gently to secure adhesion.
- Hold the pressure for a few seconds until the bond is firm.
- To remove, apply Telesis Super Solv or a specific remover along the edge of the lace and wait for the adhesive to soften before peeling away carefully.
Usage tips
Prepare the skin properly before applying
Prior cleaning is the factor that most influences adhesion durability. Use an oil-free cleanser and make sure the skin is completely dry. On very oily or sweaty skin, apply a very thin layer of translucent powder before the adhesive to improve grip.
Control the tacky point
Do not place the piece onto wet adhesive: the result will be a weak bond with bubbles. Wait until the applied layer loses its glossy shine and takes on a matte, slightly sticky appearance to the touch. That is the moment when the bond will be strongest.
Always remove with the appropriate remover
Although Sigma Bond's hold is strong, removal is straightforward if you use the right product. Do not pull the piece off dry: always apply a specific remover such as Telesis Super Solv or Telesis Makeup Remover around the perimeter and wait for the adhesive to release. This protects both the skin and the lace of the piece.
Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to use directly on skin?
Yes. Telesis Sigma Bond Rollon is formulated for use on skin and is one of the most widely used adhesives in hairpiece work and FX makeup due to its safety profile. If you have sensitive skin or a tendency to reactions, always perform a patch test on a small area before full application.
How long does the adhesion last?
Duration depends on skin type, physical activity and environmental conditions (heat, sweating). Under normal conditions, Sigma Bond Rollon provides a firm hold throughout a full working day or performance. For more demanding situations, silicone adhesives such as Telesis 8 Adhesivo de Silicona offer greater resistance.
Can I use it with no prior experience?
That is precisely what it is designed for. The roll-on format eliminates the need for brushes or spatulas, and the open time (time between application and placement) is generous, giving you room to adjust the piece before the bond becomes permanent.
How is it removed without damaging the skin or the lace?
Apply Telesis Super Solv or Telesis Makeup Remover around the perimeter of the piece. Wait a few seconds for the adhesive to soften, then gently lift the lace from one edge. Avoid pulling dry, especially on delicate laces, as you could damage the mesh or irritate the skin.
Is it suitable for bonding FX silicone prosthetics?
Sigma Bond Rollon is optimised for hairpieces and lace hair systems. For platinum silicone prosthetics or more demanding FX makeup pieces, it is recommended to use specific adhesives such as Telesis 8 Adhesivo de Silicona or PROTAC Adhesivo acrílico para maquillaje FX.
Can makeup be applied on top?
Yes. Once dry, the adhesive is virtually invisible and accepts the application of character makeup on top. To blend the tone of the lace or piece with the skin, you can use colour palettes such as the Skin Illustrator Flesh Tone Palette or the Skin Illustrator Complexion Palette.
Is it suitable for darker skin tones?
Yes, the adhesive is transparent once dry and adds no colour, so it works on any skin tone. For subsequent character makeup, the Skin Illustrator Dark Fleshtone Palette is a good reference for darker tones.
How much product is used per application?
The roll-on format dispenses product very efficiently: a thin coat is sufficient for a correct bond. The 38 ml bottle provides a considerable number of applications on standard front lace lines, making it economical for daily use as well.
