FullDip Liquid Vinyl - Candy
15,73 € Tax incl.
FullDip Liquid Vinyl Candy is a liquid vinyl spray with a pearlescent, candy finish that shifts in tone depending on the base colour and light angle. It bonds to flexible surfaces — including EVA foam — without cracking or peeling, and offers high UV resistance. Ideal for anyone looking for a reversible, eye-catching colour change with visual depth.

What it's used for
FullDip's candy finish stands out for its transverse light diffusion: the resulting colour depends on both the base tone and the angle and intensity of the light. It is a go-to product for projects that demand visibility and originality, especially when working with flexible surfaces that cannot accept conventional rigid paints.
- Painting and customising helmets, bumpers and vehicle body parts
- Decoration and finishing of cosplay armour and accessories
- Painting EVA foam for costumes and theatrical props
- Customising footwear, bags and fabric or vinyl accessories
- Colour effects on rigid or semi-rigid plastic surfaces
- Decoration of props for audiovisual productions
- Crafts and creative projects requiring iridescent finishes
How to use it
- Clean the surface with a suitable degreaser and allow to dry completely.
- Apply a base coat of FullDip Solid Vinyl White or Black to define the final candy tone. A white base intensifies vivid colours; a black base deepens and darkens the effect.
- Shake the can for at least 1 minute before use and between coats.
- Apply the first coat of FullDip Candy in even passes, at a distance of 25–30 cm from the surface.
- Allow each coat to dry until it loses its wet sheen (typically 5–10 minutes depending on temperature and ventilation).
- Repeat the process until you have applied a minimum of 4 coats. The candy effect gains depth with each additional coat.
- Allow the piece to cure for at least 24 hours before handling it intensively.
Tips for use
The base changes everything
The Candy range is semi-transparent by nature: the colour you see on the finished piece is the combined result of the candy and the base. Over a white base, tones are saturated and luminous; over a black base, they become deeper and darker. Always test on a spare piece before working on the final part, especially if you are aiming for a specific result.
Temperature and application conditions
Work between 15 °C and 30 °C. Below that temperature the spray may spit or produce an orange-peel texture. Avoid applying in relative humidity above 70% or in direct air currents that dry the paint before it can level. If working outdoors, do so in the shade to prevent the sun from heating the surface during application.
On EVA foam: no primer, but preparation matters
FullDip bonds directly to high-density EVA foam without a primer, but the surface must be dry, dust-free and free of any release agent or grease residue. If the EVA is very porous or textured, first apply a sealing coat of diluted solid vinyl to close the pores and achieve a more even finish.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a candy finish and a solid finish in liquid vinyl?
Solid vinyls provide opaque coverage and the final colour is independent of the base. FullDip Candy vinyls are semi-transparent: the resulting tone varies depending on the base they are applied over (white, black or another colour) and the angle of the light. This produces depth and colour-shift effects that solids cannot replicate.
How many coats are needed for good coverage?
A minimum of 4 thin coats is recommended. With fewer coats the candy effect is weak and coverage is uneven. For more intense finishes or over mid-tone bases, 5–6 coats may be necessary. The key is to let each coat dry before applying the next.
Can it be removed once applied?
Yes. Being a liquid vinyl, once dry it forms an elastic film that can be peeled off carefully, especially on smooth surfaces such as bodywork or helmets. On porous or textile surfaces removal is more difficult and may not be 100% clean.
Does it withstand pressure washing or water?
FullDip Candy offers good resistance to water and weathering thanks to its high UV resistance. However, high-pressure water jets aimed directly at edges can lift the film over time. For use on vehicles, avoid automatic car washes with brushes and opt for hand washing instead.
Can it be applied directly onto plastic without a primer?
On smooth, clean and degreased plastic surfaces, FullDip bonds without a primer. However, on highly polished plastics or surfaces with special treatments (e.g. chrome plating or old paint), a prior coat of spray primer improves adhesion and durability.
Can it be applied over an existing vinyl layer?
Yes. FullDip bonds well over previous coats of liquid vinyl as long as they are fully cured and clean. This allows you, for example, to apply Candy directly over a base of FullDip Solid Colours to precisely control the final tone.
What is the correct application distance?
The recommended distance is 25 to 30 cm. Too close and the spray can build up and cause runs or bubbles. Too far and the paint arrives partially dry, resulting in an orange-peel texture. Keep the can moving constantly to avoid product build-up at the ends of each pass.
Does it perform well in hot climates or in direct sunlight?
FullDip Candy has high UV resistance, so it does not yellow or lose colour significantly with prolonged sun exposure. However, for application, avoid working in direct sunlight on the piece: a hot surface accelerates drying before the film can level, which can cause irregularities. Work in the shade or indoors with good ventilation.
