Applicable over alcohol- or water-based Skin Illustrator colors

How to use it
Prepare clean, dry skin free of creams or oils that could interfere with adhesion.
Apply the base makeup first if you're combining it with other Skin Illustrator colors — Glow-Worm can go on top of any color in the range.
Shake the container well before use to homogenize the reactive pigment.
Apply with a brush, sponge or airbrush over the desired areas. For airbrush, work at medium-low pressures and check the dilution according to your equipment.
Allow to dry completely before adding additional layers or sealing coats.
Verify the effect under UV light to adjust the intensity and coverage.
Apply Glow-Worm in thin, successive layers rather than a single thick coat. This gives you more control over the UV effect intensity and avoids build-up that could affect the finish under normal light. Allow each layer to dry completely before applying the next.
Combine it with the Skin Illustrator range for complex effects
Glow-Worm works especially well applied over finished looks created with the flesh tone palettes or the Complexion Palette. Being transparent under natural light, it doesn't alter the base makeup, but adds a completely new dimension under black light. You can also combine it with Skin Illustrator Glazing Gels for wet or translucent finishes.
Airbrush cleaning and maintenance
After using Glow-Worm in an airbrush, clean the equipment immediately with isopropyl alcohol or the appropriate cleaner for alcohol-based products. Do not leave the product to dry inside the airbrush, as it may clog the needle or nozzle.
Frequently asked questions
Is this type of UV makeup safe for skin?
Yes. Skin Illustrator Glow-Worm is formulated for cosmetic use on skin and face. As with any cosmetic product, a patch test on a small area is recommended before applying to larger surfaces, especially on sensitive skin. It is not approved for use around the eye area.
Can I use this UV makeup over other types of makeup?
Yes. Glow-Worm is compatible with alcohol-based Skin Illustrator colors and also with water-based colors. Always apply it as a top layer, once the base makeup is dry.
Is the UV effect visible under normal lighting conditions?
No. Glow-Worm is transparent under normal light, so it does not alter the base makeup under ambient light conditions. The fluorescent effect is only visible under ultraviolet light (black light).
Is it airbrush-compatible?
Yes. Skin Illustrator Glow-Worm can be applied with an airbrush. Work at medium pressures and check the viscosity before starting. Clean the airbrush immediately after use with isopropyl alcohol to prevent blockages.
How many layers are needed to achieve an intense UV effect?
It depends on the result you're looking for. Generally, 2–3 thin, well-dried layers produce a noticeable UV glow. For more intense effects or on specific areas you want to highlight, you can add additional layers.
Does it work on silicone or latex prosthetics?
Skin Illustrator Glow-Worm is primarily formulated for skin. Its adhesion on prosthetics will depend on the material and the surface finish of the prosthetic. For silicone surfaces, check compatibility with the specific Skin Illustrator colors designed for silicone.
How long does the UV effect last on skin during use?
Durability is comparable to the rest of the Skin Illustrator range. Under normal stage or on-set conditions, the makeup holds up well throughout the day. Excessive sweating or contact with water may reduce its longevity.
