Blood Supreme Internal -Food Safe-
5,45 € Tax incl.
Supreme Interna Blood is a food safe artificial blood formulated with a sugar solution base and water-soluble food-grade pigments. Its viscosity and flow rate accurately replicate those of real blood, making it the go-to option for productions that demand maximum realism and safety when in contact with skin, mucous membranes, or for internal use.

What it's used for
Its safe formulation and fluid behaviour make this artificial blood the ideal tool when the actor or character needs to interact directly with the product without any risk. It covers everything from surface applications to situations where the product may come into contact with the mouth or airways.
- Bleeding effects on lips, gums, tongue and oral mucosa in film and television
- Scenes where the actor needs to have blood in their mouth or spit it
- Application on skin for wounds, cuts and special effects prosthetics
- Nasal and ocular bleeding in trauma or action characterisations
- Theatre and performing arts where the distance to the audience is short and safety is a priority
- Music video production, dark fashion photography and artistic projects
- Makeup and special effects practice in professional training
How to use it
- Shake or gently stir the product before use to ensure a homogeneous mix of the pigments.
- Apply directly to the desired area — skin, lips, mucosa — with a makeup brush, sponge, or directly from the container depending on the effect required.
- For wound effects on prosthetics or artificial skin, first spread a thin layer and allow it to flow naturally before adding more volume.
- If the use is internal (mouth), dispense the minimum amount needed for the effect: a few drops are enough for a convincing on-camera result.
- For blood spitting scenes, mix a small amount in the mouth just before the take; the sweet taste of the sugar base is not unpleasant.
- Remove residue with water and mild soap after the take; the water-soluble pigments make cleaning easy on skin and clothing (wash textiles as soon as possible).
Tips for use
Achieve the right flow for the scene
The viscosity of this blood is calibrated to mimic the real behaviour of the fluid, but ambient temperature has an effect: at lower temperatures it flows somewhat more slowly. If you need a faster drip, warm the container slightly in your hands before applying. If you want a more static stain or one that dries with some texture, combine it with Pasta Fleet Street Blood, which adds body and adhesion without losing the wet look.
Integration with prosthetics and special effects makeup
When working on skin silicone or latex prosthetics, apply the blood at the end of the makeup process, once the base pigments are set. The aqueous solution does not alter oil-based pigments or standard prosthetic adhesives. For wounds that need to look active throughout a long take, load a blunt-tip syringe and feed the bleeding effect in a controlled manner from outside the frame.
Storage and preservation
Store the product in a cool place away from direct light. Once opened, close the container tightly to prevent the sugar base from crystallising around the cap. If any surface crystallisation appears, simply add a few drops of water and stir to restore the original texture. Do not mix with non-food-grade products if the intended use is internal or on mucous membranes.
Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to use inside the mouth or if accidentally swallowed?
Yes. Supreme Interna Blood is formulated with food-grade ingredients — a sugar base and water-soluble pigments suitable for consumption — so contact with the oral mucosa and accidental ingestion in small amounts poses no risk. This is precisely the use it was developed for. Even so, it is not designed for consumption as food; use it in the minimum amounts necessary for the effect.
Does it permanently stain clothing?
The pigments are water-soluble, so washing the garment with cold water and soap immediately after the take usually removes the stain. If the product dries on the fabric or if it is very porous (untreated cotton), a slight tint may remain. For production costumes that will not be washed immediately, protect unwanted areas before application.
Can it be used directly on the eyes?
The food-grade formula makes it safer than conventional artificial blood, but it is not certified as an eye drop or ophthalmic product. Avoid direct contact with the eyeball. For bleeding effects in the periocular area, apply with a fine brush along the edges of the eyelid and allow the fluid to run down naturally, without bringing the applicator close to the eye.
How long does it take to dry on skin?
Being a water-based product, it evaporates gradually with body heat and ambient warmth, leaving a slightly sticky film (from the sugar) that maintains the wet look for an extended period. It does not form a firm crust like fast-drying bloods. If you need a coagulated or dried blood effect, combine it with Fleet Street Drying Blood Dark, which does dry with texture.
What is the difference from fast-drying bloods?
Fast-drying bloods, such as Fleet Street Drying Blood Fresh, are formulated to adhere to surfaces and create the look of coagulated or already-dried blood. Supreme Interna Blood maintains an active, wet flow, is suitable for internal use and mucous membranes, and cleans up with water. They are complementary products: Supreme for live flow and safe use in the mouth and on mucous membranes; fast-drying bloods for static wound effects on skin or fabric.
Does it work well under intense heat from studio lights?
The heat from studio lights accelerates water evaporation, which may cause the product to flow faster initially and then leave a stickier residue. In shoots with intense heat, apply the product closer to the moment of the take and keep the container ready for touch-ups between shots. Keep the container away from direct heat sources so it does not lose fluidity before use.
Is it suitable for sensitive skin or allergy sufferers?
As it is formulated with food-grade ingredients, the skin tolerance profile is generally high. However, if the actor has a known hypersensitivity to any of the food colorants, check the ingredient list on the packaging before use. If in doubt, carry out a patch test on a small area of skin at least 24 hours before the shoot.
How does it integrate into a wound prosthetic made with skin silicone?
Once the prosthetic is adhered and made up, apply the blood as the final step using a fine brush or blunt-tip syringe into the interior of the simulated wound. The fluid will follow the relief of the prosthetic naturally. If you need continuous bleeding throughout the take, feed it through a thin tube concealed in the hair or costume. The water-based formula does not damage silicone or standard prosthetic adhesives.
