Professional brush for FX make-up. Solvent-resistant vegan synthetic bristles, sustainable bamboo handle. Ideal for applying, blending and removing prosthetics and special effects.

The Titanic Pro-FX Brush 311 is a flat square brush for special effects makeup. The square tip — with all ends aligned in a straight line — is the format that offers the greatest precision in sharp edge work: the 90-degree angle of the tip allows you to accurately cut out areas of color and apply paint to the edge of a line without overflow.

What it is used for

The square cut is the go-to choice when the job requires sharp, clean edges. In special effects, this is especially relevant for painting prostheses with well-defined color zones, anatomical edge lines in fantasy characterizations or the application of pigments on surfaces with abrupt transitions.

  • Application of paint with straight and clean edges on prostheses
  • Cutting out color areas in fantasy and superhero characterizations
  • Opaque base paint with defined edges in body painting
  • Sealers and bases with controlled edges in latex applications
  • Edge work on prostheses where the color transition is abrupt

How to use it

  1. Load the brush evenly so that all bristles carry the same amount of product.
  2. For clean edges, use the edge of the square tip as a cutting edge and apply with firm pressure along the reference line.
  3. To fill in area, use the flat side of the brush with long, even strokes.
  4. The 90 degree angle of the corners allows you to go over the edges with the side of the brush to refine.
  5. Clean after each session with the appropriate solvent for the product used.

Use Tips

The edge as a trimming tool

The edge of the square tip is the most precise part of the brush. To trim an edge, load the edge with a little product and apply with short movements on the reference line. It is a technique equivalent to using a liner, but with a brush that also serves as a filler.

Complement to 112 Remover

The Brush 112 (square tip) is an adhesive remover similar in shape to the 311. If you already have the 112 in your kit, the 311 is its complement for the painting phase: the same square tip that you use to remove adhesive is used to apply color with clean edges.

Frequently asked questions

Is the square brush better or worse than the standard flat for FX work?

Neither better nor worse — different. The standard plane (307) is more versatile for general coverage. The square (311) is more accurate on straight edges and corners. In a complete kit, having both is ideal: the 307 for general applications and the 311 for working on edges and areas with abrupt transitions.

Which SFX products are compatible with 311?

It is compatible with alcohol and water-based paints, encapsulation sealers, creamy bases and liquid latex. The synthetic bristles resist common solvents in the FX industry and are easy to clean with the solvent corresponding to the type of product used.

Can I use 311 to apply straight edge adhesives?

Yes. The edge of the square tip allows adhesive to be applied in very defined stripes, which is useful when you need to glue a prosthesis exactly up to a certain line without the adhesive overflowing. For this application, load the brush with a small amount and apply with the edge.
