EasyFlo Clear is a low-viscosity rigid polyurethane resin formulated in a neutral amber tone, specifically designed to be pigmented with chromatic precision. Its light base colour allows a minimal amount of pigment to produce vivid and reproducible results, making it the go-to choice for prototyping, artistic reproductions and special effects where colour is critical.

What it's used for
Its neutral colour formulation makes it especially versatile when the final result depends on colour or surface finish. It is used both in short-run production and in one-off workshop pieces:
- Artistic and sculptural reproductions requiring an exact colour
- Rapid prototyping of production-ready appearance parts
- Special effects (FX) with custom colours or translucency effects
- Cold casting: metal simulation by mixing the resin with bronze, copper or aluminium metallic powders
- Wood, marble or other material effects using decorative fillers
- Mass-pigmented parts with PolyColor pigments, achieving vivid colours with minimal amounts
How to use it
- Make sure the mould is clean, dry and treated with a suitable release agent for polyurethane.
- Measure the components in the correct ratio: 1:1 by volume or 100A:85B by weight. Weighing is always more accurate.
- If you are going to pigment, add the PolyColor pigments to part A before mixing with part B. Use small amounts: the light amber base amplifies colour significantly.
- Mix both parts with constant stirring for at least 30 seconds. Working time is approximately 2 minutes, so work quickly.
- If you need bubble-free parts, degas the mixture in a vacuum chamber before pouring. EasyFlo Clear is more moisture-sensitive than other casting resins, so this step is especially recommended.
- Pour into the mould in a continuous, controlled stream, preferably in a thin thread to reduce air entrapment.
- Allow to cure for 15 to 30 minutes at room temperature before demoulding. Full mechanical property cure is reached at 24 hours.
Usage tips
Working temperature and flowability
EasyFlo Clear works best between 22 and 25 °C. At low temperatures, viscosity increases and the risk of bubbles rises sharply. If the workshop is cold, gently warm the components in a water bath (do not exceed 35 °C) before mixing. Never use part B near direct heat sources.
Pigmentation and cold casting
The neutral amber tone of EasyFlo Clear is the ideal base for PolyColor pigments: at very low ratios (between 0.5% and 2% by weight of part A) you achieve saturated, reproducible colours. For cold casting, mix the metallic powder with part A before adding part B, and make sure the powder is completely dry to avoid interfering with the cure.
Bubble control
If you do not have a vacuum chamber, work at a warm temperature, mix slowly and pour in a thin thread from a certain height so that the travel itself releases some of the trapped air. Bear in mind that EasyFlo Clear is more prone to bubbles than other casting resins in the same family: if transparency is not a requirement, an opaque resin may be easier to work with without vacuum.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use this resin without a vacuum chamber?
Yes, but results will be better with vacuum. EasyFlo Clear is more moisture-sensitive and more prone to bubbles than other casting resins. If you don't have a vacuum chamber, work at a warm temperature, mix carefully and pour in a thin thread. For parts where bubble-free results are critical, vacuum is practically essential.
Which pigments are compatible with polyurethane resins?
Pigments must be specifically formulated for polyurethane. PolyColor pigments are designed for this type of resin and offer homogeneous dispersion without affecting the cure. Avoid pigments containing water or incompatible solvents, as they can interfere with the chemical reaction.
What type of mould can I cast this resin in?
EasyFlo Clear is compatible with condensation and addition silicone moulds, flexible polyurethane moulds, treated plaster and many other materials, provided a suitable release agent is applied. Silicone moulds are the most common option due to their easy demoulding without the need for a release agent.
How long does it take to fully cure?
The part can be demoulded 15 to 30 minutes after casting, but full cure of its mechanical properties (definitive Shore Hardness 72D) is reached at 24 hours at room temperature. Do not subject the part to mechanical loads or paint it before that time.
Why has component B changed colour between batches?
This is normal. The B component of polyurethanes can vary in shade from one batch to another or darken over time due to exposure to air and moisture. This visual change does not affect product performance or the final result if it has been stored correctly. If the product has gelled or has lumps, then it has lost its properties and should not be used.
Can I do cold casting with this resin?
Yes, it is one of the most common applications of EasyFlo Clear. Its neutral amber colour allows bronze, copper or aluminium metallic powders to express their full visual potential. Mix the metallic powder with part A, making sure it is completely dry, then add part B. You can also apply a layer of powder directly onto the mould before casting to achieve a more intense metallic surface.
Is this resin suitable for food contact or skin contact?
No. EasyFlo Clear is not certified for food contact or prolonged use on skin. It is not suitable for baking moulds, cutlery, kitchen utensils or prosthetic effects in direct contact with mucous membranes.
What is the difference between measuring by weight and by volume?
The 1:1 mix by volume is the easiest to apply in the workshop using graduated containers. However, weighing is always more accurate, as liquids can have different densities. For EasyFlo Clear, the weight ratio is 100A:85B. An error in the ratio can cause incomplete cure, sticky parts or loss of mechanical properties.
