What it is used for

The Playmarker Emerald is a versatile tool that fits a wide range of creative disciplines wherever an intense, vibrant green with a satin finish is needed. Its brush-type tip allows you to draw fine lines and fill large areas with equal ease.

How to use it

1. Surface preparation: clean the piece of dust and grease. For maximum coverage and true Emerald colour, apply a white spray primer first.
2. Priming the marker: before first use, shake the Playmarker for a few seconds to homogenise the paint. Press the tip gently on a test surface until the paint flows evenly.
3. Application: apply the Emerald colour with smooth, even strokes. The felt tip allows both fine detail lines and broad fills. Work in thin layers for greater control; the fast drying time makes successive passes very easy.
4. Layers and blending: once the first layer is dry, you can add additional coats to build opacity or blend with other Playmarkers while the paint is still wet to achieve transitions and gradients.
5. Weathering effects: when the paint is completely dry, apply any AK Interactive weathering product without risk of lifting the base colour.
6. Varnishing: if you want to change the satin finish to matt or gloss, apply the corresponding AK Interactive spray varnish without affecting the paint.
7. Cleaning: the tip is ; swap it out when it becomes worn. To remove fresh paint from surfaces, use water. If the tip dries out, moisten it with water.

Usage tips

White primer for maximum Emerald performance

AK Interactive recommends always using a white primer base before applying the Playmarkers. The Emerald colour, being a highly saturated tone, gains luminosity and coverage over white; on dark surfaces it may need many more layers to reach its true potential.

Work in thin layers to control intensity

Although the Playmarker Emerald has high coverage, applying thin layers and letting them dry between coats gives you more control over the final result. On small miniatures, a single layer can be enough for highlight areas, while two or three coats will give full opacity on shadows or base areas. The fast drying time makes this process very quick.

Keep the tip in good condition

The felt tip is the key to the marker's precision. Avoid pressing too hard to prevent deforming it. If you notice the tip accumulating dried paint from other surfaces or losing its shape, replace it to maintain clean, even strokes. Store the Playmarker horizontally or with the tip facing down to facilitate paint flow.
