What it is used for

The colour White is one of the most in-demand in any modelling or miniature project. This Playmarker lets you apply it quickly, cleanly and with high coverage in a wide range of situations:

How to use it

1. Prepare the surface: Clean the piece of dust, grease and any release agent residue. For maximum coverage and adhesion, apply a white primer first. If the piece is already primed in white, you can work directly on it.
2. Activate the marker: Shake the Playmarker well before use to homogenise the paint inside. Press the tip gently on a test surface until the colour flows evenly.
3. Apply the paint: Draw over the desired areas with controlled strokes. The brush-type tip allows you to work both broad areas and fine lines. You can layer thin coats to build up coverage or create transitions.
4. Allow to dry: Touch-dry time is quick. Wait until the coat is completely dry before applying a second coat or any subsequent product.
5. Apply effects or varnish: Once dry, the paint withstands weathering, washes and filters without lifting. If you want to change the satin finish to matte or gloss, apply the varnish of your choice.
6. Cleaning: Being water-based acrylic, clean the tip with water while the paint is still fresh. If the tip becomes saturated or worn, replace it with a new one.

Usage tips

Prior priming for best results

Although the Playmarker White has good direct adhesion, AK Interactive recommends always applying a white primer before painting with Playmarkers. This enhances the coverage of the White and ensures that subsequent layers show the colour as it truly is, without a dark base distorting it.

Thin coats and wet-on-wet working

White is a colour that can become streaky if applied in coats that are too thick. Work in thin passes and take advantage of the short drying time to build up opacity progressively. If you need to blend or feather on the piece, do so while the previous coat is still slightly wet.

Tip maintenance

The felt tip is. If after cleaning it with water you notice it loses flow or becomes misshapen, replace it. Storing the marker with the cap tightly closed and in a horizontal position extends the tip's useful life and prevents the paint from drying inside the cap.
