How to use it

1. Mount the piece: place your sculpture on the turntable so you can rotate it and work every angle without moving around.
2. Rough out the shape: use the plastic tools for the overall volume; you can lightly sand the tip to suit your style.
3. Smooth transitions: use the double-ended silicone ball stylus tools, ideal for curves and rounded details.
4. Texture the surface: press the Monster Skin pads into the still-soft clay to create organic skin.
5. Add the final finish: use the stipple sponge for a fine-pore texture or to remove loose particles.
6. Clean each tool by material: silicone with a damp cloth or isopropyl alcohol, plastic with warm water and soap.
7. Store the set: return the tools to the reusable case to keep them protected and easy to find.

Usage tips

Customise your plastic tools

The plastic tips in the kit can be lightly sanded with fine sandpaper to adjust their shape to how you work — something you can't do with the metal or silicone tools.

Make the most of the turntable on small pieces

Turning the piece instead of walking around the table lets you keep a consistent perspective and spot asymmetries sooner, especially on busts and maquettes.

Clean each material separately

Don't use isopropyl alcohol on the plastic pieces or too much water and soap on the silicone ones: each material has its own recommended cleaning method to avoid degrading it over time.
