The Liquid Sculpey Multi-Pack Metallics brings together three bottles of liquid polymer clay with a permanent metallic finish: Pearl, Gold, and Silver. Each bottle contains 29.5 ml (1 oz) of material ready to pour into silicone molds, apply with a brush or spatula, and bake at low temperature. The result is a flexible, durable piece with a metallic shine that requires no additional finishing. Perfect for handmade jewelry, mixed-media projects, and home décor.

What it's used for

  • Filling and casting silicone molds to create pendants, brooches, and cabochons with a metallic finish.
  • Embellishing sculptures and polymer clay pieces with high-precision metallic details.
  • Image transfers and window clings with a metallic effect on smooth surfaces.
  • Creating handmade jewelry: earrings, pendants, and brooches with a professional finish.
  • Scrapbooking, mixed-media, and home décor projects with custom metallic elements.

How to use it

  1. Shake the bottle: before using, shake gently to blend the metallic pigments and achieve an even color.
  2. Adjust the screw cap: open it fully to pour directly into molds; turn it halfway for greater control when working on detail areas.
  3. Apply the material: pour or spread with a spatula or silicone brush over the mold or surface you want to decorate, making sure to cover every corner.
  4. Bake the piece: place in a conventional oven or toaster oven at 130 °C (275 °F) for 15–30 minutes. Never use a microwave.
  5. Cool and unmold: let the piece cool to room temperature before unmolding to avoid warping and achieve a perfect finish.

Important: do not use a microwave to bake this product; uneven heat can ruin the piece and produce fumes. Always bake in a well-ventilated area. Although the material is non-toxic, avoid prolonged skin contact and wash your hands after use. Keep out of reach of children under 8 years of age.

Tips and tricks

Color blending for unique effects

Combine Pearl with Gold to achieve warm champagne tones, or mix Silver with alcohol inks in blue or green to recreate an aged metallic patina effect. Alcohol inks blend in seamlessly before baking and the color sets permanently.

Adjust the viscosity to suit your project

If you need a thicker consistency—ideal for retaining texture in deep molds—pour the contents of the bottle into a cup and let it rest covered overnight; the clay will thicken naturally. For greater fluidity and easier brush application, add a few drops of Clay Softener and mix well before use.

Depth effects with layers

To achieve a finish with greater visual depth, first apply a layer of Liquid Sculpey Translucent (available in the Basics pack) as a base in the mold; then add the metallic color on top and bake the whole piece together. The translucent layer creates an inner glow effect that enhances the metallic shine.

Frequently asked questions

Can you paint over it once cured?

Yes, although the metallic effect is already the product's final finish. If you want to add details, use water-based acrylic paints or varnishes specifically formulated for polymer clay; they adhere well to the cured surface without altering the base metallic shine.

Does it work in molds other than silicone?

It can be used in metal or ceramic molds, but silicone is the most recommended material because it allows flexible demolding without forcing or breaking the piece. For rigid molds, apply a release agent before pouring the material to make removal easier.

How much material do I need for a small mold?

A 1 oz (29.5 ml) bottle is enough to fill between 2 and 4 medium-sized pendants, depending on the depth of the mold. For very thin or small-format pieces, the yield may be higher; for deep or large-surface molds, calculate the volume before you begin.

Can I mix it with the basic-color Liquid Sculpey?

Yes, all products in the Liquid Sculpey line are fully compatible with one another. Mix Pearl with Translucent for a subtle pearlescent effect, or Pearl with Black for an elegant metallic gray. Proportions are entirely up to you; experiment until you find the shade you're looking for.
