what are they?

EVA Rubber Profiles are prefabricated EVA foam moldings that are glued onto sheets to add relief, trim and clean edges to cosplay armor and props without having to carve them from scratch. They save time, improve symmetry and allow for more professional finishes.

what types are there?

  • Round (rod): for piping, false piping, grips and ribs.
  • half-round (Half round: for raised edges and smooth transitions between parts.
  • Triangular (bevel/45°): for sharp edges, frames, paneling and tech details.

All are supplied in 1 m lengths and in various diameters/sizes to match each other.

Applications and uses

  • Frames and hulls: perimeter trim, ribs and decorative "ribs".
  • Props: grips, guards, casings, "piping" and panel frames.
  • Sci-fi and fantasy aesthetics: paneling, separations and consistent design lines.
  • Finishes and visual sealing: hide joints, give continuity and volume to edges.

how are they used?

  1. Plan and lay out: mark the profile path on the base EVA and cut to size.
  2. Thermoform if necessary: apply gentle heat (heat gun) to bend and seat curves and edges.
  3. Glue
    • Contact glue: apply to both surfaces, allow to cure and press. It is the safest option for long runs.
    • Cyanoacrylate (superglue): useful for short runs or points, holding until set.
  4. Profiles and unifies: use dremel/fine sandpaper to smooth joints, make transitions and exact bevels.
  5. Seal and paint
    • Seal with flexible primer(FullDip) to close the pore.
    • Paint with flexible acrylics or EVA compatible systems to avoid cracking.

Quick Tips

  • Bend test on remnants before final assembly.
  • For clean corners: miter cut (45°) and sand the joint.
  • On tight curves, work in short lengths and glue progressively.
  • Avoid excessive heat: it can close pores or deform the profile.
