Epofer TANK (8151) is a high-strength epoxy resin designed for solvent resistant laminates and the interior coating of unleaded gasoline tanks. Its advanced formulation provides maximum adhesion and a uniform, durable coating, protecting the treated surface against corrosion, wear and fuel vapors.
✔ Main Characteristics
- Epoxy resin for tanks, laminates and resistant coatings.
- Maximum chemical and mechanical resistance, ideal for demanding environments.
- Low viscosity, easy application and high impregnation of reinforcements.
- High adhesion on different substrates, guaranteeing durability.
- Available in 1.2 kg kits, perfect for industrial projects.
✔ How to Apply
For a perfect and long-lasting coating, follow these steps:
- Clean the tank thoroughly with vinegar and metal items such as chains or nuts to remove dirt.
- Prepare the mixture by combining Part A (base) with Part B (catalyst) in a ratio of 100:20 by weight.
- Pour the mixture into the tank and swirl it continuously to cover all internal walls, sealing pores and creating a uniform coating.
- Allow the product to cure for 18 to 24 hours for maximum chemical and mechanical resistance.
✔ Attention to Temperature
At low temperatures, Part A (base) may become more viscous and generate a grainy effect, similar to what happens with olive oil or honey. Do not worry, this does not mean that the resin has been damaged, but in this state it cannot be used because the catalyst would not react correctly.
To solve this problem, heat the product by placing it near a heat source (radiator) or immersing it in a water bath. Wait until it reaches the optimum temperature for use: 20-25ºC. Applying it cold may leave areas without hardening.
✔ Key Benefits
- Forms a uniform, tough coating on tanks and structures.
- Prevents fuel vapors from damaging the tank's exterior paint.
- Offers high chemical resistance for long-lasting protection.
- Adheres to multiple materials, ensuring excellent adhesion.
- Ideal for automotive, industrial and chemical exposed structures.
✔ Product Performance
For a 40 liter tank, you will need approximately 1 complete kit. In smaller tanks, you can adjust the amount of mixture used.
✔ Kit Contents
- Part A (base): 1 kg
- Part B (catalyst): 200 g
- Mixing ratio: 100 parts Part A to 20 parts Part B.
